Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Excavator / Loader Operator to join our mobile crushing and screening crew. The successful candidate will operate heavy equipment to feed and support mobile crushing and screening plants, manage stockpiles, load trucks, and move aggregate materials safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced operator who takes pride in safe equipment operation, productivity, and maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and wheel loaders safely and efficiently.
- Feed mobile crushers and screens with a consistent flow of material.
- Load trucks and manage aggregate stockpiles.
- Move, sort, and blend material as required.
- Monitor crusher/screener feed and communicate production or equipment issues.
- Remove oversized material and contaminants from the feed area when safe to do so.
- Assist with setup, relocation, and teardown of mobile crushing and screening equipment.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Grease equipment, check fluids, and report mechanical issues.
- Work safely around crushers, screens, conveyors, trucks, and other heavy equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable site regulations.
- Assist the crushing crew and other site personnel as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of excavator and/or loader operating experience preferred.
- Experience in aggregate, quarry, crushing/screening, construction, demolition, or similar industries.
- Mobile crusher/screener experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment safety and jobsite awareness.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment issues.
- Valid BC driver's licence.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
