POSITION: SENIOR NETWORK TECHNICIAN

UNIT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

STATUS:  TEMPORARY FULL TIME (6-12 month contract)

SALARY: $80,839.20 - 101,049.64

 

Position Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology Services (ITS), the Senior Network Technician (SNT) works with others to design, implement, and support appropriate network to support secure, efficient and reliable wired and wireless network connectivity to systems.   The SNT holds accountability for security, system updates, configuration management, and change control practices to ensure currency, security, and availability of networking devices, communications systems, servers, storage, applications and works closely with staff and all levels of leadership.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with possibility of occasional hours on weekends, evenings, and On Call coverage

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma/Degree in computer science, information security or related field from accredited college/university
  • Experience in Citrix
  • Experience in CommVault Backup
  • Database management experience for SQL, Oracle, and other databases (e.g. Open Source)
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
  • Hands-on networking, software and hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Health Level 7 (hL7) Interface programming
  • Hewlett Packard: Blade/Server Hardware, Storage Area Network (SAN)/Storage systems
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Managing multiple priorities and projects
  • Experience in working with staff and all levels of leadership
  • Microsoft Enterprise Tools: Active Directory, Exchange,  Microsoft 365, Teams
  • Scripting (various scripting languages)
  • VMWare VSphere Servers/Views workstation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to remain resilient to meet tight deadlines and deal effectively with competing demands and interruptions
  • Strong attention to detail and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated behaviours aligned with STEGH values

 

Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work and provide a receipt of vaccination from the Ontario Ministry of Health.
