Our division is a global supplier and manufacturer of industrial and explosion-proof unit heaters and thermostats for hazardous and severe duty locations.

 

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm - overtime when available.

Hourly wage - based on experience.

Job Description

Metal Fabrication Labourer

The Metal Fabrication Labourer will participate in all activities as a member of the Welding and Fabrication division of the company.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret Detailed Work Instructions
  • Use of hand tools including grinding and sanding type tools
  • Use of cut-off saw for metal and aluminum.
  • Cleans, QC’s, and checks component parts for any defects.
  • Removes metal and/or prepares materials for welding by grinding and beveling.
  • Use of a gravity fed paint gun.
  • Ensures all equipment is clean and functional.
  • Assists with the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment.
  • Assist Welding staff on support issues related to welding.
  • Other related tasks and duties as required.

 

Health & Safety Responsibilities

To take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and of other workers present while at work, and cooperate with the employer for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of themself and other workers.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Hold a valid grade 12 diploma.
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a weld shop.
  • Forklift License would be an asset.
  • 1 to 3 years of direct related work experience.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fabrication and detail oriented

 

Work Environment: 

  • Workshop where there is a potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and high noise.
  • Have manual dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Wearing and using personal protective equipment is required when in the workshop.
  • Follow various company policies and procedures including adherence to high Safety standards.

 

Criminal Background Check will be performed prior to hiring applicant.

Company completes random drug testing.
