We are on the City of Calgary Master Indemnified Contractor list, and hold a SECOR Certification from the Alberta Construction Safety Association. We are currently seeking an experienced Tandem Dump Truck Driver and Lowbed Operator. The successful candidate should have experience driving a tandem dump truck, and can operate a tractor backhoe and excavator for loading & unloading purposes. Responsibilities Include:

  • Safe operation of a tandem dump truck
  • Travel to material suppliers to pick up loads and return to various work sites
  • Safe operation and loading/unloading of tractor back hoe and excavator on/off the low bed trailer
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance checks on tandem dump truck and low bed trailer
  • Assist excavator, pipe layer, labourer, and foreman as requested on site
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Class 1 tractor operation
  • 1+ year of heavy equipment operation
  • A valid Alberta Class 1 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract 
  •  Personal transportation to get to and from the job site.
  • Experience loading and unloading a tractor back hoe and excavator on low bed trailer
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations and construction site activities
  • Works well under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime in all types of outdoor environments and weather conditions
  • Able to perform the physical duties associated with the role
  • Must have CSA approved safety boots
